Our grants panel will meet again in early February and we are actively encouraging community groups in Reading to get their applications in to us early in the New Year.

Expert Patients Programme Community Interest Company (EPP CIC) is a national organisaton that exists to support people living with long-term condition(s) and their carers. Volunteers living with a long-term health condition or care for someone with such a condition are sought:- (a) to train as Volunteer Tutor to deliver EPP CIC self-management courses. Training takes place over 4 days plus ongoing 1-to-1 support and volunteer management is provided by EPP CIC trainers. Trained volunteer tutors will then work with another trained person to deliver the programme in the community. It is necessary to have completed an EPP course in a particular area. (b) to act as mentor for student nurses for the Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care. Training consists of a 6-week EPP course followed by 2-day mentor training and 12 mentoring sessions. Expenses paid. References and Police checks are required.
