Reading Supported Living Inclusive Forum

The Supported Living programme aims to help vulnerable people to live more independently. It provides support to prevent problems that lead to hospitalisation, institutional care or homelessness and to help those leaving an institutionalised environment.

The sort of support provided by Supported Living include help access Welfare Benefits, helping people develop the skills they need to live alone and manage their housing and providing advice and advocacy.  The services may be provided for a short-term until the person feels confident to manage without support or on a continuous basis as in sheltered housing.

Services are developed locally by the Contract and Commissioning Team in partnership with local statutory, private and and voluntary agencies.

The Reading Supported Living Forum meets regularly to share news and discuss issues.  Please click here for 2011 meeting dates.

Understand How you Fit into the Bigger Picture with Stronger Together's Partnership Maps

Stronger Together have mapped the relationships between the local voluntary and community sector and statutory partners to provide a living document of how both sectors work together.

We hope to expand on these diagrams as partnerships develop, but if you would like to comment on them please contact Anna Fowler at  Stronger Together.
